Ralph Nader on Education
Ralph Nader is the type of aspirant who doesn't have to label himself the "Education
Candidate." Nader's decisions include abandoning standardized testing and focusing on civic and
consumer education, as well as many other good criteria. Anybody who follows his stands would
know that our nation's education system would improve greatly under his guidance.
One of Nader's biggest ideas is to get rid of standardized testing and focus more on
teaching civic skills, democratic principles and citizenship. He believes that the core curriculum
in schools should be learning how to practice democracy and developing civic skills all while
connecting the classroom to the community. Nader says that our country's schoolchildren also
need to study history,
